Sweet Eleanor
Waved her William off to war,
He would return and wed her,
This was his solemn swear,
Late nights perched at her window,
No news of William came,
Nightmares of war her only visitor,
with prayers in vain,

But Eleanor was spurned,

And on one moonlight night,
Her heart in ardent pain,
She called to holy father,
and cursed his holy name!
